For my Produsage 1, I am incorporating YouTube and VoiceThread for the students to learn the content but needed a medium to communicate directions and assignments to my students. I decided to use the opportunity to create another blog using one of the different sites I mentioned in my first blog post and so I chose WordPress.
I love the available layouts and formats WordPress offers for free but do not think it is as user friendly as blogger.com.
Has anyone used both sites before? I am interested to see if it is easier to navigate blogger.com or is it easier because I have already established blogging preferences and habits in less than 3 weeks.
Hey Molly,
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, in the class I teach, we use WordPress and my blog here is Blogger.
I love all things Google, and blogger has access to all the same features as WordPress to my knowledge. Wordpress can incorporate some google html code, like a calendar for example, but with all the support and usability with Google, I hardly bother with anything else.
Another cool blog/website is weebly, but most of them are really the same with interchangable parts, it all comes down to preference I think.
Cheers,
Ben E.

ReplyDeleteHi Molly,
ReplyDeleteI really like the versatility of Wordpress, as well as the look and feel. The widgets are great and part of my goal this week was to add another. So I picked your blog to add my RSS feed widget with, so it now appears on my page and you are just a click away. I've used Flipboard, but not true RSS feed features. I like it. I'm going to add a couple of other things as well.
It looks like Blogger is equally as robust, but I also like the analytic tools that Wordpress has. Once I finally figured out how to stream in my twitter, I was a happy camper! :)
Good luck with your project.
Sheryl
Thanks for the feedback! I am definitely going to explore the two and look into weebly, but so far my preference is blogger but that might change as my skills develop.
