Wiki or Forum???

As I developed and planned out my Prod 2 Forum, I reviewed some of the Prod 2 from 2009 on the course wiki and wondered if a wiki would be a better format for my creation. After a little exploring I found this article that discusses 15 Productive Uses for Wikis....

Do you agree with these 15? Are there any uses that would be more appropriate??? I found it interest that even though this was knowledge was written and available in 2007 I never used a Wiki in undergraduate studies (Graduated 2008).

  1. I'm not so sure about contacts (so many tools that do this better and more automatically these days, synching across platforms/devices) and invoices (don't want $ info online). But else, some fine ideas. I've tried several, although wikis aren't generally my thing -- I keep notes in evernote, record things on blogs, etc. I did have a "get ready for the baby" wiki with my husband back in the day.

  2. I read the list of 15 and thought most of them seem pretty good, though I do agree with Vanessa that maybe it's not the best place to keep contacts. But I also found it interesting that this was written in 2007, I never heard of a Wiki (I always thought Wiki was short for Wikipedia, haha!) until I got to FSU so it is funny that they have been around that long, I guess I was just in the dark!
